The first thing you need is a place to put in a hammock hook. If your walls are panelling with 2X4 studs, then you need to use a screw hook. Drill a hole first to prevent cracking the 2X4, a little smaller than the screw of course. Then put in the screw hook. The ideal height for a hammock hook is about 1.90 m (6' 3"). The typical horizontal distance between them should be about 3 m to 3.50 m (10' to 11' 6"). If the space is a little longer, it is no problem since it is easy to make up for a short hammock using extensions.

If your walls are concrete/brick, you need to embed the hook into the wall with fresh concrete, make sure you let it dry for at least 2 days before you put full weight onto the hammock.
